Welcome to Inspiration Tuesday #2! As I strive to find balance between work/family/blogging/sleep in 2015 (anyone with me on this?) I am finding that focusing on a different inspirational quote each week really helps me to stay motivated to reach my goals, manage my time better, make sleep a priority, and focus on family regularly.
Never Allow Waiting to Become a Habit.
This is seriously my mantra for the entire year. I’m going to say it over and over again in different ways, but not matter how it’s phrased, this rings true for me. As a blogger, I always thought that when I had been blogging for a year, I would have arrived. Then, when a year rolled around, I thought that 2 years would mean success.
That’s 100% false.
“Making it,” success, happiness, or anything else you desire won’t happen just because you’ve been doing it for a year. Sure, you have to put in the time, but during that time you have to be working as hard as you possibly can, learning, imagining, creating. If you simply sit back on your heels and hope it will come you’re going to be severely dissapointed.
That’s what I was doing, and I realized that it was getting me nowhere.
So, I put on my big girl pants and I pushed myself harder than I ever had before. I wrote an eCourse, then a book, and I’m getting ready to release another book. I set an aggressive posting schedule for myself, and I learned everything I could about productivity, the changing face of social media, and how my business needs to evolve if it’s ever going to be everything I want it to be.
I held myself to a “family time” schedule, made myself put away the computer/phone/tablet for at least two hours every night, eat dinner as a family, hop on the elliptical for 20 minutes every day while I watch Kardashians (don’t judge) and pick up the house for 20 minutes every night after the kiddo goes to bed.
I am living in the here and now, and I’m not looking back!
What are you waiting for?
How are you going to stop waiting?
Live Your Dreams and Take Risks.
My dream is to help people. I want to help my daughter become a non-materialistic, good-head-on-her shoulders adult. I want to help my husband live out his wildest dreams. And, I want to help people through blogging.
I had thought that a book was years off, but after my I was given the idea to write an eCourse and then publish it as a book, I realized that I could do this! And even if I couldn’t, I could take the experience and learn from it.
My dream is to work from home, as a blogger (not a freelance writer, VA, travel agent, etc.). This is my dream because not only will my dream give me the freedom to help as many people as a possibly can, it will allow me to set the tone for everything I do, all while spending tons of quality time with my family!
What are your dreams?
Are taking risks to achieve those dreams?
How unbelievably scary is it?
Life is Happening Now.
I found that for most of 2014, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Yes, I was working on a career, a blog, a baby, and a husband, but I didn’t have time to sleep, much less appreciate the amazing life I have.
Balance is just that: appreciating the amazing that is happening right now.
Whether it’s your kids, your husband, your friends, your business, or whatever else you have going on, remember that if you don’t take the time to make memories, laugh, and pursue your dreams, this time is going to pass you by.
So, my challenge to you, in Inspiration Tuesday #2 is this:
Don’t Let Life Pass You By.
Do Not Wait.
Take Risks.
Pursue Your Dreams.
Achieve Balance.

Although I don’t watch the Kardashians, I can get sucked in so easy by shows like that. Toddlers and Tiaras was my favorite when we had cable. It’s like a train wreck that I can’t stop watching. :) Love the new inspiration Tuesday.
