Date night is awesome, and I don’t say that mildly.
The kids go to grandma’s and you’re home-free for the night. No responsibilities, no one calling you, no kids hollering your name. If you have kids, you get it.
With Valentine’s Day approaching (hello, it’s tomorrow in 2 days! If you haven’t gotten a gift yet, check out these ideas for gals, and these for guys) there is SO much pressure to make a dinner reservation, arrange for flower deliver, purchase the perfect card and gift, and generally make the night the date night of the year.
Which is crazy hard to do when the restaurant is crammed with 100’s of other couples trying to do the exact same thing.
Also, how many of those couples are going to get engaged on Valentine’s Day.
Probably a lot, which will completely overshadow your night.
So my challenge to you, today, is to do an at home date night.
You know why at home dates are the best?
They’re cheap.
The food is awesome.
No one interrupts you.
You don’t have to wear pants.
If you haven’t yet embraced the at-home date night for fear it will be cheesy, or you’re looking into it because you’re trying to hit some ambitious financial goals, then today’s challenge is for you.
I’ve collected some awesome ideas for at home date nights in honor of Valentine’s Day and Day 3 of our 10 Days To A Better Marriage Challenge, so you can do an at home date soon, reconnect with your spouse, and save money all at the same time!

We all have to be creative with our dating life. Like it or not, keeping the sparks alive in marriage is hard, especially around Valentine’s Day when the stakes are high.
The hubs and I make it a priority to spend one evening a week together: whether we hang out after the kiddo goes to bed, or we enlist the help of grandma to take her off our hands, date nights (even informal ones) are SO important.
And, if you didn’t like any of these ideas, here are 101 more that you can check out!

Some great ideas here! We tend to have at-home dates more than out-of-home dates due to a lack of babysitters!
