If you haven’t heard of Republic Wireless yet, you should absolutely go read Debt Roundup’s Review here. Their innovative ideas are revolutionizing the cell phone game! With the Moto X (an amazing phone) already offered contract-free for $299, and phone plans starting at just $5 and going through $40 a month, they are, in my opinion the best option on the market right now.
Unlimited 3G Plan $25 per month from Republic Wireless
How do they do it? Republic Wireless developed software that would offload calls, texts, and data onto wireless internet when you are within range. You don’t have to have a separate app to call or text, the phone does it automatically. When you are not in wireless internet, everything goes through Sprint’s cell towers. Smart, right?
Right now, Republic Wireless only has 1 phone, the MotoX $299 on Republic Wireless Unlimited 3G Plans. Republic Wireless does not have contracts, so that is an awesome price, but you have to buy it from them because of the software.
In April, they are coming out with another, more affordable phone option, the Moto G. The 8GB version will be $149, and the 16GB will be $179! I think that is an awesome price for a contract-free phone! But, how does it stack up against phones from other carriers and the Moto X? Below are the specifications from Republic’s Website, but here are the highlights:

What do you think? Are you going to get one? Is the loss of 4G on the Moto G a deal-breaker?

Well thank you for linking to my review. I really appreciate it. I do think the Moto G is a good, low cost phone. I don’t have 4G on my phone and I don’t have any issues with it.

No problem! I have the defy still, and it is slow, but I think that it is because of the operating system, not the 4G. Not a deal-breaker for me at all!
