Blogging is a never-ending thing.
Seriously! When you’re first starting your blog, you’re thrilled when you start averaging 50 page views a day, when you make your first affiliate sale, and when you’re featured by another blogger.
Then, you hit your next milestone: averaging 100, 500, or even 1,000 page views a day and you’re generating a steady, albeit small, monthly income with your blog.
Then you plateau.
You start researching blogging business methods, tapping into your blogger network for new ideas, and you start putting an ungodly amount of hours into making your blog the next big thing.
Most of us know all too well how overwhelming it can feel to juggle the day-to-day demands of writing a blog with the big-picture strategy of creating a profitable business. Have you ever wished someone could guide you through the process of a successful blog and show you step-by- step, exactly how to grow your traffic and generate a sustainable income?
That is exactly what Elite Blog Academy was designed to do. A few months ago I decided to take a chance and enroll in the first-ever Elite Blog Academy course. I wasn’t sure I would learn anything new, but I was willing to take the chance.
I wrote a post about Elite Blog Academy earlier, but what I wanted to share with you today is the impact that it has had on my blog above and beyond JUST my blog. (Oh, an if you hang with me, Elite Blog Academy is giving away free stuff to everyone!)
Maybe it will inspire you to take your blog to the next level, with Elite Blog Academy or without , or maybe my story will help you achieve better work/life balance. Whatever you get out of all of the changes happening in my life because of Elite Blog Academy, I hope that it is positive!
5 months ago, I started earning a regular income from this blog.
To the tune of $1,200 – $1,500 a month. Not fantastic, but not terrible either! I was working too many hours at a job I hated, missing out on precious time with my family, and this blog was my only relief from the drudgery of feeling like my family didn’t see enough of me.
I desperately wanted to be able to strike a better balance between work/family/side hustle, and even though I didn’t want to admit it to myself, I wanted to be able to work from home. I wanted to be able to watch my little girl grow up, actually spend some time out in the sunshine, and have the time to cook from-scratch meals while still working on my career from home.
Elite Blog Academy had given me so much confidence in my abilities with my blog that I started looking for other opportunities that would build my credibility, my income, and my business. And I landed on something synonymous with blogging:
Pinterest Marketing.
Not social media marketing, freelance writing, or virtual assisting, because those markets were already sooo saturated, but specifically Pinterest Marketing.
Why Pinterest Marketing?
Because I was once where you are – overwhelmed and overworked with the huge amounts of time that marketing your amazing content on Pinterest – heck, all social media – takes! I felt like I was:
- On Pinterest 24/7
- Pinning hundreds of pins per day
- Driving miniscule amounts of traffic to my blog
- Feeling overworked and overwhelmed
But I knew what a powerhouse Pinterest could be for my blog’s traffic, so I determined to apply the principles found in Elite Blog Academy to drive massive amounts of traffic to my blog.
When I set out to make Pinterest work for my blog, I realized that there were no Personal Finance power users on Pinterest! So I set aside my blogging niche for a moment, and started studying the most influential Pinterest power users: how often and when they pinned, what types of things they pinned, and the descriptions they used for their pins. I did so without regard to niche or subject matter. What I was looking for was the common denominator between the most powerful people on Pinterest so I could use those strategies to grow my blog.
And then I wrote a book, detailing everything I learned – and it was awesome!
Fresh off of the success of Elite Blog Academy, and the book it inspired, two things happened:
I lost my job & I decided to take a leap of faith.
When I lost my job, I started brainstorming ways that I could grow my business – outside of Retired by 40!, but still doing something related to blogging. The Big Guy and I talked, and it turned out he was sooo ready to go back to work (he’s been a stay-at-home-dad for about a year and a half).
Was this maybe my chance to finally work for myself and see what I could turn this business into?
I don’t know what the future hold, but do know that starting April 16th (after tax season, ya’ll!) I’ll be officially a self-employed, work from home momma!
I started working with my Pinterest Marketing test group March 1st (which is comprised of a group of amazing bloggers, I might add), I launched The Pinterest Assistant, and I’m holding a killer giveaway in which I’m giving away 2 free months of complete Pinterest Management, Custom Pinterest Marketing plans, and even copies of my book!
And it’s all because of Elite Blog Academy.
Elite Blog Academy starts with the basics, from getting your blog off the ground and creating KILLER content (for those of you that are beginners) to developing revenue streams and marketing on social media (for those of you in the mid-region of growth), and all the way to turning your blog into a business!
This course taught me how to now only run my blog and my business correctly, but how to have the correct mindset and entrepreneurial spirit that will set my business up for long-term success. And that’s exactly what I want!
Through a powerful combination of effective videos, practical and insightful handouts, purposeful assignments, and interactive live webinars, Elite Blog Academy will empower, enable, and inspire you to take the specific steps necessary to refine your message, grow your audience, monetize your platform, and transform your blog into a successful and profitable business.
Here is what the course includes:
1. Start with Awesome – Learn the secret to successful blogging and master the 3 steps to starting with awesome. Understand what makes YOUR blog unique (and therefore marketable), and create the framework for a powerful platform that gets results.
2. Content is King – Discover why the key to a successful, popular, and profitable blog starts with amazing content, master the four essential strategies for creating content that rocks, and learn exactly how to FOCUS™—the secret to creating a killer blog post every single time.
3. Presentation is Everything – Uncover the three visual areas every blogger must focus on in order to be successful and learn not only why Pinterest is the most powerful marketing tool ever created,
and how to harness that power through creating the Perfect Pin™.
4. Grow Your Platform – Learn how to increase, diversify, and stabilize your platform through eight proven strategic growth strategies. Develop the confidence to promote your core message with an authority that draws people in, master field-tested techniques for networking and collaboration, find out exactly how to grow your subscriber list, and discover why good SEO really isn’t as complicated as everyone makes it out to be.
5. Social Media & Viral Growth – Uncover the mysteries of capturing and retaining viral blog traffic through social media and learn to determine which social media platforms are most valuable for your own audience. Find out the ten crucial steps to take if your blog post goes viral, then create comprehensive marketing plans for both Facebook and Pinterest in order to develop a cohesive social media strategy that gets results.
After that it gets more into monetising through ad networks, affiliate sales, private advertising and creating products.
Lastly it gets into working smart/efficiently and being strategic to grow your business.
(quick note about the EBA Forum: now that I’ve had access to this forum for 6 months, I realize that the forum alone was worth the purchase price. Why? Because it gives you access to 900 bloggers, in all stages of the game, to whom you can ask every single question you don’t know the answer to. Like how to create certain types of graphics, and how to fix your google analytics code when it messes up!)
Blogging is not for the faint of heart, and this course requires a willingness to buckle down and get to work.
That said, for those who are willing to do the work, it also comes with a 100% money-back guarantee. Anyone who completes the course and has not seen measurable results in both traffic and income growth will get your money back, no questions asked.
That’s a pretty incredible promise, but it means that you’ve literally got nothing to lose.

Hi Gretchen!!
Thank you for your informative post! I’ve been going back and forth about whether EBA is right for me. I’m currently a hobby blogger but I want to grow and be able to share more posts with more people! I would also love to know whether it’s possible to make a regular income with blogging without a bunch of advertisements. I personally dislike ads, and use AdBlock all the time so I don’t even see them. Does EBA offer money making strategies other than CPM? Or do they attribute all of their “income increases” to ads?
Thank you so much! I’m so impressed with what you’ve done!
– Daisy
